Hangzhou Kidney Hospital of our hospital was awarded the honorary title of "Clinical multidisciplinary Management and Training Tool construction -- Chronic kidney disease Management Model Research Project Demonstration Training Center" by The National Health Commission.
It is reported that our hospital is the only one in Zhejiang province and the only municipal hospital among the top ten training bases selected by the Capacity Building and Continuing Education Center of the National Health Commission from the first-class hospitals in municipalities directly under the central Government or provincial capital cities.
On the morning of April 14th, the training class of "Clinical Multidisciplinary Management and Training Tool Construction -- Chronic kidney Disease Management Model Research Project" sponsored by the National Health Commission and organized by our hospital officially opened in our hospital. More than 30 professional medical staff from many hospitals across the province participated in the training. At the same time, a ceremony was held at the opening ceremony.
The training course will be composed of senior experts from nephrology, nutrition, nursing, rehabilitation and psychology of our hospital, bringing comprehensive, practical and rich content of integrated management and prevention of chronic kidney disease (CKD) to the students.
Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a general term for various kidney diseases that affect the structure and function of the kidney. The biggest characteristic of kidney disease is: the damage it causes to the human body is often difficult to reverse, and will eventually progress to the stage of end-stage renal disease, requiring kidney replacement therapy (such as hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, kidney transplantation, etc.), bringing great pain to patients.
China is a big country of kidney disease, according to statistics, the incidence of CKD is about 10.8%, the total number of patients is as high as 120 million, which means that 1 in 10 people suffer from this disease. However the awareness of chronic kidney disease (CKD) is less than 13%, the treatment is as low as 7.5%, far below the other chronic non-infectious diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, large population was later in the disease diagnosis, bring heavy economic burden, and compared to other chronic diseases, more need to adhere to long-term treatment for patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and disease management specification. The great social harm of CKD and the uniqueness of the disease pose a great challenge not only to nephrology but also to the entire medical security system.
How to manage chronic kidney disease and related complications scientifically is a common concern of experts. "Construction of Clinical Multidisciplinary Management and Training Tools -- Chronic kidney Disease Management Model Research Project Demonstration Training Center" is a research project on chronic kidney disease management model in China initiated by the Capacity Building and Continuing Education Center of the National Health Commission of China in 2020, with the participation of experts in nephrology, nutrition and nursing.
The project selected 10 chronic kidney disease special ability training bases as a regional clinical diagnosis and treatment and training platform, in order to cultivate and improve the clinical diagnosis and treatment and management ability of medical staff, while exploring a new model of chronic kidney disease management in China, to make a positive contribution to national health.
