The department of division of Infectious Diseases was established in 2004. There are 2 chief physicians, 3 deputy chief physicians, 5 attending physicians and 2 resident physicians. All of them have bachelor degree or above, including 6 practicing doctors of Traditional Chinese medicine, 3 practicing doctors of Western Learning, 1 doctor candidate and 4 master candidate.

The department has infectious disease outpatient department, fever outpatient department, liver disease outpatient department, intestinal outpatient department and observation ward (the infectious disease department of Wulin Hospital is currently under renovation, dingqiao Hospital is open as usual). It is responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of various bacteria, fungi, viral diseases and nosocomial infections, the consultation of infectious diseases in the hospital, and the screening of infectious diseases and the guidance of the rational application of antibiotics. It undertakes clinical teaching for undergraduates and postgraduates of Hangzhou Normal University and Zhejiang Middle University, as well as planning and training for residents of Chinese and Western medicine.

Guided by the theory of Traditional Chinese medicine, the department uses Chinese and Western medicine and non-drug therapy of Traditional Chinese medicine to carry out the diagnosis and treatment of common and multiple infectious diseases and liver diseases. Using the theory of five transport and six qi to guide clinical practice, highlighting the characteristics of TCM advantages of the department. It focuses on the diagnosis, treatment and research of febrile diseases, intestinal infections, chronic liver diseases, including cirrhosis, fatty liver and cholestatic liver diseases.
