Established in 1989, the Department of breast diseases is one of the early established breast disease specialties in Zhejiang Province. It is the Hangzhou breast disease diagnosis and treatment center of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine and the key discipline of Hangzhou medicine. The Department of breast diseases has independent specialist clinics, expert clinics and wards. At present, the discipline has domestic first-class breast related examination equipment and experienced diagnosis and treatment team. To carry out the diagnosis and treatment of various types of breast diseases and surgical treatment of various types of breast tumors, thousands of cases are performed every year, including breast conserving surgery, radical resection, sentinel lymph node biopsy and breast I and II reconstruction. At the same time, the discipline has two teams of Western medicine and Chinese medicine. There are unique methods and advantages in adjuvant therapy and mastitis treatment for breast cancer patients.

The Department has 11 specialists and 10 specialist nurses. The discipline staffing is reasonable, with a master doctor ratio of 88.9%. It has doctors with backgrounds in tumor surgery, internal oncology, plastic surgery, breast specialty and traditional Chinese medicine surgery, forming two discipline technical forces of Western medicine surgery and integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine surgery for the prevention and treatment of breast diseases. Specialist nurses have been engaged in nursing work for breast diseases for a long time. They have accumulated a lot of experience in preoperative and postoperative nursing, health education, postoperative recovery of breast cancer patients and nursing care of patients undergoing chemotherapy.
