Nephrology Dept. of HZTCMe was established in 1986. It is the leader of the national key clinical specialty, the key disciplines and key specialty cooperation group of the State Administration of traditional Chinese medicine, the cultivation unit of East China traditional Chinese medicine nephropathy diagnosis and treatment center, the first batch of key medical disciplines in Zhejiang Province, the seventh consecutive key medical disciplines in Hangzhou, and the training base for hemodialysis nurses in Zhejiang Province, Zhejiang regional kidney disease diagnosis and treatment center (Northern Zhejiang).

Nephrology Dept. has four departments: outpatient department, ward (four wards, 187 beds), blood purification center (126 hemodialysis machines) and nephropathy experimental research room. The nephrology laboratory is the third level laboratory of traditional Chinese medicine, the Key Laboratory of renal disease prevention and control technology in Zhejiang Province and Hangzhou renal pathology diagnosis center, which undertakes clinical and scientific research tasks. Blood purification center is the affiliated unit of Hangzhou blood purification quality control center and Hangzhou peritoneal dialysis center. There are more than 1000 maintenance dialysis patients. It is one of the largest dialysis centers in Zhejiang Province. The annual number of patients discharged from the Department is more than 6500, the number of outpatients is more than 170000, and the proportion of regional foreign patients is more than 60%. It has undertaken more than 200 national, provincial and municipal scientific research projects, won 14 first, second and third prizes for scientific and technological progress of Zhejiang Province, and more than 100 other scientific research achievements. In 2016, the project "innovation, research and application of syndrome treatment law and key diagnosis and treatment technologies of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine for IgA nephropathy" participated by the Department won the first prize of national science and technology progress award, which is also the highest award won by Hangzhou Medical and health system so far.

Hemodialysis center (blood purification center) is an affiliated Department of Nephrology Department of our hospital. It was established in 1989. It is one of the earliest hemodialysis centers in the domestic traditional Chinese medicine system and one of the dialysis centers with strong comprehensive strength in Zhejiang Province. Hangzhou blood purification quality control center and Zhejiang hemodialysis specialist nurse training base are all located in our hospital.

At present, Wulin academy has 118 international advanced hemodialysis machines, blood purifiers and top water treatment systems. At present, there are more than 500 hemodialysis patients who have been in Wulin hospital for a long time. The patients with the longest dialysis years have been for 30 years, and more than 80000 dialysis patients are treated every year. At the same time, more than 500 arteriovenous fistula operations and more than 400 hemodialysis catheters are carried out every year, including complex operations such as balloon dilatation, internal fistula reconstruction, narrowing, aneurysm resection and new artificial vascular fistula. 60% of foreign patients come to the hospital to solve the problem of vascular access every year. The successful rescue of difficult and critical patients has won the "first prize of clinical medical achievements of Hangzhou health system" for two consecutive times.

The blood purification center in Dingqiao District of our hospital has a super large room area of more than 3000 square meters. It is constructed according to high standards and specifications. After it is fully put into use, 120 hemodialysis machines can be configured. The medical team is a "elite soldier and strong general" selected from the Wulin hospital area. It adopts the advanced digital information management system to intelligently manage hemodialysis patients, accurately control the treatment process, ensure the safety of patients, and follow up and adjust the treatment plan in time by means of data collection, real-time monitoring and comprehensive analysis; The blood purification center also adopts a variety of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine treatment methods, such as oral administration of traditional Chinese medicine, moxibustion, acupoint application, foot bath, umbilical therapy, whole colon lavage of traditional Chinese medicine, so as to continuously improve the quality of life of hemodialysis patients.

Peritoneal dialysis center: it has an independent outpatient clinic and ward peritoneal dialysis treatment room, equipped with full-time peritoneal dialysis doctors and nurses, and has established a systematic outpatient follow-up system. There are more than 430 regular outpatient follow-up patients. The incidence of abdominal infection in peritoneal dialysis patients is controlled at more than 100 months / person time, which is far lower than the national average. The average diagnosis and treatment time of peritoneal dialysis is 63 months, which is higher than the domestic average, The annual withdrawal rate is less than 15%, the regular follow-up rate is more than 95%, and the dialysis quality is at the leading level in China. The "peritoneal dialysis star" selected twice in the province was produced in the center and has been rated as an excellent unit for peritoneal dialysis quality inspection in Zhejiang Province for many times.

Nephrology laboratory: it is the national level III Laboratory of traditional Chinese medicine and the Key Laboratory of renal disease prevention and control technology in Zhejiang Province. It has clinical examination room, PCR room (gene amplification laboratory), cell room, renal pathology room and electron microscope room. It has the main apparatus such as flow cytometry, fluorescence quantitative PCR, specific protein analyzer, small automatic biochemical analyzer, gel imaging analysis system, biosafety cabinet, micropathology image analysis system, electron microscope and so on. In addition to the routine detection of nephropathy, it also carries out the detection of relevant antibody levels and cytokines. The nephropathy laboratory test project has participated in the quality control of the clinical test center of the Ministry of health and Zhejiang provincial clinical test center all year round, and its results are among the best in the country.

The renal pathology center is Hangzhou renal pathology diagnosis center, which regularly holds Hangzhou renal pathology seminars. In 2018, it held 7 Hangzhou pathological film reading reports, providing 101 pathological consultations for hospitals in the city and surrounding cities. 571 cases of pathological light microscope specimens and 597 cases of electron microscope specimens were accepted, which is of great significance to improve the technical level of regional renal pathological diagnosis and guide clinical treatment.
